Cockapoo Puppies
Nowadays, Cockapoo Puppies are in high demand, because people show a growing interest in this unique hybrid dog. The Cockapoo is a cross between the Poodle and the American Cocker Spaniel. These dogs are also referred to as Spoodles and Cockerpoos. Cockapoos differ in size, body formation and coat color. Since there is no uniform set of characteristics for Cockapoos, they cannot be classified as a separate breed. There is no breed standard for the Cockapoo, and the dog is not recognized by the American Kennel Club. However, the dog can be registered with the American Canine Hybrid Club.
There are four types of Cockapoos: Teacup, Toy, Miniature, and Standard. The Teacup is the smallest one measuring under 6 inches tall at the withers; the Toy Cockapoo stands 6-12 pounds tall at the shoulder; the Miniature Cockapoo measures 13-18 inches; the wither height of the Standard Cockapoo exceeds 19 inches. The size of a Cockapoo Puppy depends on the size of the sire and dam. These dogs also vary according to coat type, and there are three coat types common to this hybrid: tight curly, medium curly and flat. The type of the coat is also inherited. Cockapoos occur in a wide array of colors.
Cockapoos do not shed heavily, and hence they are okay for allergic people. The coat requires daily grooming. Cockapoos are healthier than many purebred dogs, and their life span can reach 20-22 years. Reputable breeders try to breed Cockapoos in such a way as to combine in their Cockapoo Puppies the best of the Cocker Spaniel and Poodle both in terms of physical appearance and mental characteristics.
The Cockapoo has a friendly and forgiving disposition, which makes him an ideal companion for children. These dogs are very playful, intelligent and active. They appreciate game and entertainment, and they are not demanding in terms of physical exercise. At the same time, they tend to become depressed if left alone for a long time. They do not like indifferent attitude toward themselves on their owners’ side, because they love to be in the spotlight. Cockapoos are great companions for people of all ages. They can get along with other dogs, and well socialized dogs can even tolerate non-canine pets. Responsible breeders produce high quality Cockapoo Puppies by way of selective breeding, as they are working around the clock to develop a fixed genetic makeup for the dog and gain him an official recognition.
